Understanding Capture Requests

What do they do?

Capture requests are typically used to invite another user outside of your Org to capture a job for you. For example, a contractor can create a Capture Request that is sent to a homeowner user or another pro user outside of their account. This sends the homeowner a text message and/or email inviting them to capture a Hover property, depending on your organization's preferences. A Hover job is created when the Capture Request is sent.

When a Capture Request is created, either the user requesting the capture, or the user receiving the Capture Request can perform the photo capture. Once the requested capture is complete, both the capturing user and creator get access to the job. Upon creation of a capture request, Hover will send notifications to the capturing_user_email and capturing_user_phone, instructing them to download the app and take the photos.

It is possible for either of the users involved in a Capture Request to complete the capture. To identify the user who completed a Capture Request, you can reference the captured_user_id attribute on a completed job object.

Connect Request vs Capture Request

The terms "Connect request" and "Capture request" are often used interchangeably by our customers and do mean the same thing.

How will I know that the homeowner has submitted photos of their home and that the 3D model is ready?

In your Property Portfolio, you can see whether the homeowner registered with Hover and submitted the photos. We’ll also send you an email when the homeowner uploads photos of their home and when the 3D model and measurements PDF are ready.

At what point will I be billed?

You will be billed when you receive the 3D model with all exterior measurements.

Does the homeowner receive the measurements as well?

No, the homeowner receives the 3D model without any measurements. They do receive access to Hover's design features so they can experiment with the look of the exterior of their property.

Can I delete the invite after I’ve sent it to the homeowner?

Yes, you can delete the invite at any time. Once you delete the invite, the homeowner will no longer be able to submit their home to you.
